Adrian Belew is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist. He has released 20 critically acclaimed solo records and was the frontman, singer, co-writer, and guitarist for the progressive rock band King Crimson for 36 years. He has a unique way of playing, using some unconventional techniques and a ton of different effects to create his sound. His style includes tapping, pick scrapes, bending the neck, and some cool slide guitar techniques that aren’t your typical approach.
On top of his solo work, he’s played and toured with Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Nine Inch Nails, Tom-Tom Club, Paul Simon and his newest super-group band BEAT with Steve Vai, Danny Carey, and Tony Levin.
Adrian wrapped up a 2024 US tour with BEAT, where they performed music from classic King Crimson albums like “Discipline”, “Beat”, and “Three of a Perfect Pair”. Some of us here at the Digitech office got to see the show and said it was magical!

Adrian has been a big fan of DigiTech gear for a long time, and to this day, he still uses the DigiTech Harmony Man to create his unique sounds. At one point, he even had his own signature DigiTech iStomp Impossible Pedal for his ‘impossible’ sounds. The Impossible Mode has now made its way into the new DigiTech HammerOn pedal, and it won’t be long before we see the HammerOn on his pedalboard. We can’t wait to see how he pushes its limits next!

The old DigiTech Harmony Man still responsible for his truly unique sounds.

Onstage with BEAT! On the pedalboard to the far right, you can catch a glimpse of Steve Vai’s Whammy DT.
